We followed neighbor Armondo on his moto on a moonlit night to a remote former monastery to discover that 30 men from the Lunigiana countryside had formed into a chorus called the "Coro di Lunigiana" which had traveled the world to sing canzone populare, the popular traditional songs of the Lunigiana countryside.
We were allowed to video the rehearsal, which featured a grappa sampling at the break. That'll loosen up the old vocal chords!
We even discovered, afterwords, that the coro has a fine web site: Coro Lunigiana, where you can find their next performance.

The video camera used on these Italian travel videos is a Sony HDR-TG1 Hi-Def Handicam that slips into a pocket and has decent 5 channel audio. See my Sony Handycam HDR-TG1 Camcorder Review on Europe Travel.
I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9
for editing, as it natively edits the AVCHD video format. The recently released Adobe Premiere Elements 7
does AVCHD as well, but was released too late for me to try on this trip. The Adobe software should be easier to use.
