Soave is a walled wine village in the Veneto region of Italy, south of Bassano del Grappa. It is a stunning site visible from the A4 Autostrada as you pass, which draws many visitors who hadn't put Soave on their itineraries. The suprised visitor will not be dissapointed.

Soave Sights
Castle of Soave Castello Scaligero - Cited for the first time in 934, the castle occupies a commanding position on Tenda hill. Walls completely encircle the old city, which is entered by dramatic gates.
Palazzo dei Capitani is where lots of events are held, including some of the Presepio events you find below. Other palazzi includ Palazzo de Guistizia (1375), Palazzo Cavalli (1411) and Scaliger Palace.
At Chrismas (20 December to 18 January) a gigantic manger scene, Presepio gigante a Soave, is set up in the Palazzo del Capitano. At the same time there is an exhibition in the San Rocco church called "The Place of the Nativity Scene in Culture and Art".
The third Sunday of May is the Festa Medievale del Vino Bianco Soave, Soave's medieval wine festival.
